I decided to share this article engagement, my experiences, because I would like for many other men who suffer from the problem itself will be useful, as I was after. I would like to preface this with a disclaimer: I am not a doctor or an authority on medical matters and health. If you think you suffer from low testosterone, please read my story. If you find that you identify with my experience, you may decide, in the direction of a qualified research.
I am a 42-year-oldold husband and father of four children. About 8 years ago I started feeling "off." It 'started very slow, almost imperceptible changes in the way I felt, and gradually became worse. I was really a bit 'too bulky (even tie his shoes was a big chore). I had no energy or motivation to do something. I am stunned when I got up too quickly. I started to gain weight without real changes in my diet. I've always been a very my adult sexual life, and if notlonger had erections morning I knew something was wrong. My libido was fairly nonexistent.
I went to my GP who referred me to an endocrinologist. This doctor has a series of tests (blood, urine, etc. ..) took place and that my testosterone levels were well below the normal level for a man my age. I said I had something called pituitary hypogonadism. In short, my pituitary gland to stop and stop sending signals to produce my testiclesTestosterone. Obviously it is quite common in men who are in their late 30 or 40 years. I think the only tolerate most men and chalk up to old. Not for me. No disrespect to those men who are okay with aging, but I will do everything I can to stay as young as I can. The endocrinologist has me on testosterone injections that I had to give back, once every two weeks.
After my first shot, I felt much better. My energy is back, I startedto lose weight, my erection and libido returned seriously. That was it! This was the answer. He's only so much meaning. I was low on testosterone, so I needed to correct testosterone supplement? Wrong! Let me explain in detail.
Testosterone remained for many years. I recordings (two different types of esters of testosterone), creams, gels and patches. I tried all. All in all, I felt better than before HRT (hormone replacement therapy), but I started another topic to be developed. ThisYou could not recognize me on my own. There were no side effects such as tired or do not want to have sex. The doctor, who I had for the treatment of low testosterone did blood tests to check my general health and levels of testosterone. He noticed that my hematocrit level started to rise. Hematocrit is a measure of blood volume that is occupied by red blood cells. I started to develop the opposite problem for someone with anemia. I had called too many red blood cells - a conditionPolycythemia vera. Polycythemia is a potential danger. to make too many red blood cells very often. Some professional athletes (especially runners) take supplements in an effort, the number of red blood cells to grow in their body. Red blood cells carry oxygen to the muscles in the theory so that the more red blood cells you have, the more oxygen available to make your body. This leads to improved athletic performance and more efficient and fasterRecovery. However, as in my case, there is a point where there's too much good.
The disadvantage of a greater number of red blood cells - the blood is not my heart must work harder to pump blood through me. The "extra work" I ask my heart to do, could lead to a heart attack. In addition, blood clot often becomes easier and more efficient. This could lead to stroke, pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis, lead, etc. Basically, it is not good.
I also went overDoctor (this is a hematologist / oncologist). Treatment for high hematocrit (too many red blood cells) is a drain (not removed, some blood). Basically, they just pull out a pint of blood. If you remove a pint of blood "thick" My body is a pint of new blood brought in to replace. The hope is that my body does not produce red blood cells as fast as the doctor can remove them. It 's like donating blood. Bled this had to happen a few times per monththe level of red blood sugar or an acceptable level "sure".
I was in a Catch-22. I needed to feel normal and testosterone as a man, but every time I shot my, I had to bleed the blood bank to make a beer and eating a cookie! I did this cycle for several years and it sucked!
Fast-forward several years. My wife saw an infomercial, and they were talking about the Acai berry - about them detox, cleanse and lose weight. My wife has tried to lose, the lasthad gained a few pounds during pregnancy with our new son. He wanted to try Acai. You and I both went online and did a test of these deals a month. I thought that if he was going to try, I could try. I had to lose some weight for me so I thought it could not hurt.
I started the pills as directed. After a few days ago I noticed that was not as hungry as usual was. A plate of food would invite to dinner and then only he (area of ½, theis not normal for me). The only other thing I noticed is that my morning "elimination" was almost effortless. I would not go into too much detail, but here ... er ... There was no need for reading in the head no more - I was in and out in no time! Beyond that, I had a lot of attention. Do not think that I lost significant weight, but I was also very development of a muscle and so it was difficult to say at the base with a weight for me. I never measured my body fat(Something I should do). My wife actually lose weight (about 8 pounds in three months or so), but this is not the point of this post.
It was time for my next appointment with the hematologist.
Note - for the time-line, I had the acai for almost a month at this point.
At that time my doctor visits were too routine. There was the same every time I would do to them what was happening as "Stat hematocrit (a blood test fastcontrol my levels of red blood cells). He was always too high (60-ish for all doctors who might be reading this). Then would the arm of a needle about the size of a McDonald's straw in my taking a pint of blood, give me a cookie or a hard candy and send me on my way. This time was different. This time the tests showed a low red blood cell production. Not too low, but at the lower end of normal. There was no need for the bleeding (I was really happy- I hate blood). My doctor asked me if something had changed. He thought, maybe I stopped my testosterone shots or something. I said no. I was still on testosterone. In fact, I had only recently made my shot about 3-4 days before that date. On this basis, my red blood, the levels were through the roof! I could not have done anything differently so we just made another appointment for a month later, and I think, left his office.
There was nountil I got home late at night when I remembered that I was under the Acai pills. I wondered if maybe the pills that do something visible with the change in my blood. I was not doing anything different, so different, it made sense to me. I tried searching online and found nothing of a correlation between blood cells and red acai. I've got to prove my theory, but my situation was, I felt great and my blood was made perfect so why change anything right? I orderedone bottle of Acai pills and continued to take them religiously. Just an interesting note - My wife actually stopped, the Acai pills. He said that his headache. I really do not think that their headaches caused Acai, but I thought it was at least mentioned here.
About three weeks later I had another appointment with my endocrinologist. I saw him regularly as well (about once every 6-8 weeks). He would always order a blood test to check my levels and totalfree testosterone. On this occasion, neither he nor I was prepared for the results of this examination. My testosterone levels were through the roof! My measurement of total testosterone was 937 ng / dl! This is about twice the normal level for a man of 25 years (I was 39 at the time).
It 'important to note that over the years, while under his care and injections of testosterone vary my level (usually between about 319-450 ng / dl). These are considered acceptable or "normal"Levels for a man of 30 years or 40 years late. There was always a direct correlation between higher levels and the amount of time since my last shot (which would exceed the peak level of testosterone about 3-7 days after the stroke, gradually decrease over the next 10 -14 days).
My doctor asked me what I did to increase my testosterone level. I said nothing. I told him that I would under Acai, and asked if he thought might have an impactmy testosterone level. He said "no." I think he was angry because I accused, most of the drugs, as he had prescribed. He gave me a lesson on side effects of taking too much testosterone (a steroid). He did not return my testosterone prescription and made a new appointment for me to go back and repeat the test in a month.
Once again, I went online and tried all possible connection between the acai berry and the production of testosterone in search of men. I found nothing! I foundthat most sites have only been trying to sell acai and propagates the effects of additional weight loss. There was no science at all - just a bunch of rumors and hype ("diet secrets of the stars being", "Super Food Acai Berry, etc. ..).
Fast forward to my next appointment with the endocrinologist. I have my shot if I was purposely so for the time I was in the doctor's office, there were about 8-9 weeks since my last planned testosteronestroke. My testosterone level should be very low (in 200's). It was not! In fact, had high-normal (517 ng / dL). What the hell? It was about eight years after my diagnosis. pituitary hypogonadism, according to my doctors, not only to solve. It is a chronic disease. My doctor has no explanation, but refuses to acknowledge that the Acai to do with (he is very old-school medicine and this has to do is simply too much of a stretch for him, I think).
Since thisGiven the evidence I have yet more testosterone. My level is at a normal or high normal (430-520 ng / dl). My blood profile (high red blood cell) remained within normal limits. I attribute this to the fact that I no longer complete with testosterone injections. I feel great, I have energy, my weight down a few pounds and I still really enjoy when poop! I'm not necessarily saying that Acai is responsible for all this, but I say that is notare!
I keep seeing both doctors once in a while, just to keep an eye on things too. If everyone were to start again as I would be able to pick early, you know? I mean, however, I have several blood tests over the past months have been many and so far everything is perfect!
If you think you have low testosterone levels, you could go to a doctor to get checked out. A variety of "old school" doctors believe that low testosterone is only part ofold and are not comfortable prescribing testosterone. You probably should for an endocrinologist or search for an anti-aging doctor - someone who specializes in hormone replacement therapy.
Of course I am a HUGE believer in the benefits of acai berry supplement.
